Systum™ Green is is a rich and complete natural source of amino acids, fatty acids, minerals, trace elements and antioxidants. Systum™ may be considered an important supplementary feed for companion animals. Especially for animals on a main diet of dried or canned food and animals on BARF, Systum™ may be a useful and necessary supplement.

What Systum™ Green makes unique, is the use of natural ingredients, such as the concetrate of the algae Nannochloropsis gaditana, and Aquamin® ocean water concentrate. These ingredients are a rich source of natural amino acids, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and all more than 70 trace elements that are found in nature. Your companion animal gets these nutrients in the right form and in the right amounts, just as mother nature intended. Additionally, synthetic vitamines have been added, to raise the vitamin levels to orthomolecular level.

The use of only vegetarian palatizers, guarantees a 100% vegetarian formula!

Systum™ Green contains a unique combination of twenty amino acids, fourteen vitamins and ten minerals. What makes this formula special are the amino acids, building blocks of proteins. These amino acids have been added in a balanced composition, which benefits your companion animal.

AMINO ACIDS
Systum™ Green contains 18 amino acids, in natural and unprocessed form. More than half of these amino acids are ‘essential’ which means, the body cannot produce them and needs to get them through nutrition.

FATTY ACIDS
The majority of fats in Systum™ Green consists of omega-3 fatty acids, bound as phospholipids. The important fatty acid EPA is included. The phospholipid form makes these fatty acids more stable compared to for instance fish oil. Besides, they are better absorbed and have a higher bioavailability.

MINERALS AND TRACE ELEMENTS*
Systum™ contains all more than 70 minerals and trace elements that are found in ocean water. Manufacturers of commercial animal feeds usually add no more than a dozen of the best known minerals. Animals that are on a more or less one-sided diet (such as dry or canned food or BARF) may run the risk on shortage on minerals and (in particular) trace elements.

* A trace element is a mineral needed in only very small quantities.

In Systum™ Green only top quality ingredients have been used, manufactured in Europe.  A unique mixture of vegetarian palatizers makes Systum™ Green a great tasting formulation for dogs and cats, they love it!.

Systum™ Green is a complementary feed. It is safe in use and can be combined without any problems with other supplements and products.

Amino acids, vitamins and minerals

Every protein is built from amino acids. Thus, the body needs amino acids to produce proteins. Amino acids belong to the most important building blocks of the body. There are about twenty amino acids. The bodt can produce approximately hlaf of them , these are teh so-called 'non-essential' amino acids. For the other half we are dependent on nutrition, we call them the 'essential' amino acids.

Every combination of amino acids brings a protein with a different structure. Proteins found in muscles, vascular walls and subdermal tissue are responsible for the elasticity and flexibility. Proteins in skin and hair for example, are hardfer and have a more protective function.

It is important nutrition of companion animals contains sufficient amino acids. This sounds simple, but not every animal has the same needs. A young and physically active or a pregnant animal produces more proteins and has a higher need for amino acids. An older animal may respond well to suplementation with amino acids as this may compensate for the increased nuscle break down and/or diminshed protein uptake fro nutrition.

Vitamins and minerals are essential for amino acid uptake. A well designed food supplements therefore not only contains all twenty essential amino acids, but also contains a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals.

Minerals and trace elements

Remarkably, in the entire animal kingdom (including man) the mineral composition of the blood greatly resembles the mineral compositionj of ocean water. Evolutionary biologists see this as a supportive indication, the ealiests life forms developed long ago in the oceans.

Ocean water contains more than 70 minerals and trace elements, most of which we hardly know what their biological effect in the body may be. Manufacturers of commercial animal feeds usually add no more than a dozen of the best known minerals. Animals that fed a more or less one-sided diet (dry or canned food, or BARF) run considerable risk on shortage on minerals an (in particular) trace elements.

Adding vegetables to commercial feed does not entirely solve this problem: research shows due to modern agriculture the amounts of mineral in the vegetables in the USA went down with a factor 5 during the last century:

Image:  The average mineral content inselected vegetables in the USA during last century. Shown are the averages of calcium, magnesium and iron in vegetables such as cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes and spinach. (Bergner 1997: The Healing Power of Minerals.)

Figure below shows the interactions between minerals and trace elements. This figure makes clear why it is not a good idea to enrich commerical feeds with a limited number of minerals in relatively high concentrations, as they may strongly influence the absorption and excretion of the other minerals and trace elements.

Systum contains Aquamin® Ocean Water concentrate, a rich source of all more than 70 minerals and trace elements found in ocean water. These minerals are easily absorbed and offer a complete, natural and healthy supplementation to any commercial feed given to our companion animals.
